Who is Today's Biggest Influencer?

Today's social media platforms are inundated with influencers; from what to eat, wear, buy, sound like, look like, we're being influenced every way we turn. After church this morning, I was convicted to share the question: of the people/accounts we're allowing to influence us each day, are they who we, in turn, want to be like?

That got me digging into the accounts I follow and I decided, so far, to unfollow five accounts. They were accounts that I mainly heard the message to buy the newest, trendy clothes, or women that I followed because I liked their styles. Bottom line after reviewing each account made me feel that they weren't producing anything in me that made me feel that I could go share with others in hopes of sharing good news or good influence with them. I said this on my YouTube Channel and I'll say it again here, there's nothing wrong with shopping or dressing cute! I just don't want to fall into the trap of running after those things as if they will make me a better person or bring me contentment.

There is only one source of contentment and that is Christ Jesus, alone.

I would have drown in all the comparison and influencing that comes with social media today if this had been around when I was a pre-teen. I feel called to share messages of truth with our younger generations today that the standards being set on social media accounts today are not what define these young girls trying to navigate this world and the women they are becoming. God's love for us is Unmatched by anything else in this world.
